When you look at the relations with the other nations your own country is also painted with a color that varies, but I can't figure out what does it represents.
It doesn't seem to be your Badboy status, nor your leader's diplomatic skills, nor your stability...
So, does what does it represent?

Maybe it's overall regard? Mine has turned from brown, to bright red, and is now dark red.

Changing as I've become more powerful and slightly more aggressive.

When you look at the relations with the other nations your own country is also painted with a color that varies, but I can't figure out what does it represents.

It's a graphical representaion of relations between the country currently choosen and the rest (red is bad, green is good). All the numbers are also presented on the screen to your left, but the colors show a quick overview of where the (chosen) country has it's friends and enemies.

Don't know the exact ranges for the color codes, but from my own experiences they are:

-200 to -150 They really, really hate you
-149 to -100 They hate you
-99 to +99 They don't care about you either way
+100 to +149 They just want to be friends
+150 to +200 They have a picture of you on their bedstand :)

If you view the relation numbers, they are also color-coded and match what's on screen. Keep in mind, once you select a different country, the map then reflects their relationships.

It sounds like the color of your country is a good way of estimating your 'badboy' rating without going through the hassle of checking it directly in the save game file.

Initially I also thought it was the badboy status, but I loaded the first game I played with Spain with which I reached badboy = 269, and for my surprise my own color was green. It also varies very rapidly during the game so now I'm sure it is not that.

Anybody knows for sure?

I think that the colors on this screen were present in the game before anyone ever heard of the badboy-value, as this was only recently added because players wanted the AI to react to powermongers....the badboy value is 'hidden', as it does not present itself on any screens, but can only be seen in savegames...

Sorry Mr. Huszics,
I thought you misunderstood my question and replied what the color of the others mean when I was asking for MY OWN color.
If not, what do you mean? is the average of your relations?

Hmm, except that I'm in a game (using the new improved campaign) as Austria and my relationship towards Hungary at the start is around 170 yet Hungary shows up red. I have a permanent CB versus Hungary (was this changed from the original campaign?) so I suspect that it shows up red because of that and it's ignoring my relationship level in this case.
