Well, I tried this excellent little program, it seemed really good.

I wanted to create an alternative world map to play on so I just generated a new map an used that one with ICG2.2 (use ICG files checked), but the darned thing would only work a year or two before dying on me.

And the randomized income for provinces was quite funny, some had 1 and other had quite alot, there must be some way to have some sense into these values, a better way of randomizing them maybe ?

And I want to edit some provinces but that doesn't seem possible from the map editor ?

Anyway, and excellent idea, if one only could get it to work stabil I would be pleased...

In the current version only terrain, climate, goods and religion are editable.
To edit the map there must be at first generated scenario (press Run! button). Now using buttons on top-left panel select what you want to edit. Then click on province you wish to edit (or drag to select multiple provinces). Finally press one of terrain, climate, goods or religion types on bottom of screen.

Not what I wanted to do really :) I had figured that one out already, but thanks anyway.

I have tried many times now to generate a map and play that one with IGC but the game always crashes once every two years :(

I use the EU Scenario Generator as well, but haven't had crashing problems that early in a game and no more often that using a standard EU installation. I did notice two problems, though: First IGC 2.2 uses different countries that IGC 2.1 (such as Vinland for the USA tag, instead of United States), so I had to revert back to IGC 2.1 when using EU Scenario Generator v.1.16. Second, using the EU Scenario Generator with a standard install of EU v.1.09 (North America) causes Ragusa to be listed as "UNKNOWN STRING..." unless you add the SPR tag to the text.cvs file and take a copy of HistDiplomaticMatrix.csv, rename it DiplomaticMatrix.csv, and replace the one that comes with a standard install. The HistDiplomaticMatrix.csv file comes with the EU Scenario Generator.

Anyway, the program is a great program. The only things I would like to see added is the ability to set which provinces are known by a country and which provinces are national provinces.

I am still new at this game, and still learning to understand how the game works, hopefully I haven't mistated anything above.

But Essencay, did you generate a scenario or just a map to use with the IGC campaign ?

If I just make a scenario it works, but then the countries have the wrong provinces and that everybody gets a explorer and a conquistador really messes things up.

But I want to generate a new map to use with the IGC 2.2, but that don't work more than a year before crashing, not sure why though...
