Well, I think now I actually did find a real bug. Sometimes the descendants of my Bear-Lord don't have the appearance of Bears, although they have a Not a Bear trait. Is it a bug?

Hey all, newbie here only played a few hours, but i'm wondering two things (to start). How can i make money faster? I've increased taxes but I'm only making a few gold a month, at most. castle improvements and other buildings cost hundreds of gold, how will i ever be able to afford that?? also my demense is at 2/2 right now, i'm playing as lord of wolfswood, i control 4-5 surrounding counties. how can i increase my demense limit and can i take over nearby counties without having the starks hate me?

Being a simple count is very difficult as you cant conquer as easily. Try playing as a duke or lord paramount. As a duke you can fight other dukes with relative ease. Not to mention increased income as a result of being stronger. Also your demense size is limited by both your stewardship and your wifes stewardship.

I'm playing my grandchild, becoming Lord Paramount of the Westerlands after ousting my nephew, a Lannister, from power. House Reyne is now the richest clan in Westeros. The King of the Iron Throne is a tyrant, and thus a rebellion occurs to put my wife on the throne. The rebellion ends in success, and he is ousted (eventually murdered).

A few decades pass, my children now have children of their own; aside from a few peasant revolts, there is peace. I'm the Hand of the King for my wife, the Queen of the Iron Throne, known famously as 'the Noble'. She invites me to a feast, and I suspect nothing unusual.

At the feast, my wife, a Lannister, plays the 'Rains of Castamere'. Being the Head of House Reyne, I disapprove of this greatly. The feast continues when, suddenly, men grab me from behind. I become imprisoned! My wife wants the title of the Westerlands given to her! She wants to return it to her family!

Naturally, as I worked real hard to gain that title, I refused. In a fit of rage, she executes me, ending the life of Lord Paramount Landon the Great. Ser Levant the Golden Lion becomes the new Lord Paramount of the Westerlands, and the focus shifts to him.

The Queen's tyranny is made news throughout the land, and the Vale decides to rise in rebellion to replace her with another person wielding a claim to the throne; the Riverlands and the Reach assist the Vale. Meanwhile, I launch a war of independence, calling my brother-in-law, Lord Eddard II Stark of the North to help.

Christ. I wish the game kept a log of your actions so I could write this out one day.

Anyway, I have a question. Is there something I can edit in the files to increase the likelihood of finding someone to duel in battle?

I'm not exactly sure. It's just that if you play a character from House Reyne, and attend a feast or wedding hosted by someone from House Lannister, a random event may occur where they play the 'Rains of Castamere' and you get upset over it.

I think she plotted to kidnap me, and it just so happened that one solution to the plot was to invite me over to a feast and have her men jump me. However, I just lucked out that the feast also included the 'Rains of Castamere' random event moments before the successful kidnapping.

Needless to say, it made me feel giddy. I didn't even care if I had died, ha ha.

Seems a bit odd, all the Reynes are dead by the time the Rains of Castamere had been written, and if they weren't then the song wouldn't make sense. A song about how you failed to gain the Westerlands when you actually did? What's to be offended about?

True. The song "The Rains of Castamere" didn't exist before Tywin Lannister and the destruction of Castamere.

So I just cuckolded the King on the Iron Throne. There should really be some harsh punishment for that other than a -30 opinion. Also, Robb Reyne in the Blackfyre Rebellion just slaughtered about three loyalist lords in my game, including the Lord Paramount of the Westerlands. I moved my army to stop them rejoining King Daeron in a doomstack and crushed them.

I'm playing the Feast for Crows Scenario, and if you choose the House Reyne trait in the ruler designer, your dynasty changes to Reyne after a day. I roleplayed my initial character as a legitimised bastard of some Reyne fellow.

Hey, I have a question... Is it deliberate that the valyrian sword Dawn is not inheritable, or is that a bug, or does it only apply to House Dayne?

It is deliberate. Dawn can only be claimed by a strong and the virtuous member of House Dayne, when the owner of Dawn dies, it remains unused until another champion can claim it. It's not inheritable, like Lightbringer.

One thing that really annoys me is how the CK game mechanics dont fit that well with the ASOIAF world.
The people lose land too quick and die out too often. In a world where most families kept there lands for 300 years and more that is quite an issue. I play a Aegon the cqonqueror game right now ad my main job ist to keep the great houses alive, since they are trying their best in getting extinct.

Isnt it possible do make the AI fear wars (if not a lord paramount) and maybe increease male offspring?

Or is it just me that sets focus on keeping as many families alive as possible as a ruler of the iron throne?

Checked this in events. I think this is not event for Reynes. It's one of the feast choices for Lannisters, where you can pay 10 gold to have "Rains of Castamere" played on your feast.

It's there not for Reynes, but for Lannisters. Think of situations like Tywin's treatment of House Farman. According to Wiki:
It was played by envoy by Lord Tywin Lannister to House Farman of Faircastle which grew truculent, it was enough to make Lord Farman reconsider his position.
So - you pay for "Rains of Castamere", and then the play intimidates turbulent vassals. I think the bug of it being possible to play when House Reyne is still not extint / landed should be reported on the mod's main forum.

Does anyone have a preference when choosing Kingsguard members? I usually choose great fighters, but in my latest game I chose lackeys, because in the previous game a Kingsguard member ambushed me and killed me, causing a huge civil war.

I know we can't have THE red wedding, but wouldn't it be possible to have a red wedding? Like an event that gives you the option to invite the person you have a plot to kill and their family to a feast/wedding and have a chance to ambush them all at once. Obviously this would cause massive negative relations with like everyone for breaking the whole oath of hospitality thing.

Well, since you usually rely only on LC for events, I'd suggest cherry-picking best strategos. Stealing someone with e.g. Martial 25+, so you can use him, is pretty sweet.

I am of opinion this game needs more massacres & lieges being stabbed by angry courtiers. So basically +1 from me.

(also, that should have the percentage chance to go VERY awful - just so you are not sure that those pesky Kingsguard will be killed)

Trying to play multiplayer, half of us have the right checksum, the other half have GRVK... They insist they took the same steps as the rest of us but obviously something has gone wrong along the way. Anyone know what they have done wrong?

Edit: Might have figured it out. We think the installer and zipped files aren't the same, with the installer having the NB+ mod packed in with it and the Zipped files without.

Second Edit: That was the problem! If you plan to play with friends make sure you all download the same version.
