Dev Diaries:
Dev Diary #1: Shapeshifting
Dev Diary #2: Vampires
Warning: this post is very story heavy and a certain amount of geekiness from the reader is recommended...
Hello there, i am currently working on a total conversion mod for ck2 named Nimeria - A playground for the gods.
Nimeria is a world full of religions, cultures and real gods (most of them atleast). The world takes inspiration from all kinds of mythology from around the world (mainly european mythology). The inhabitants of Nimeria are all human however, except for the giants (yes, playable) living in the north. The idea was to make a (high) fantasy world without the (imo) standard formula of humans, elves, dwarves and orcs. Since religion plays a major role in the mechanics of ck2, I decided to make a story-rich world that revolves around religions and cultures.
The religions in Nimeria bless/curse ordinary humans with all sorts of unnatural powers.
NOTE: SCREENSHOTS ARE OUT OF DATE!

Cultures on the map:

Giants:
The giants live in the most northern part of nimeria, their race will be unable to have intercourse/marriages with other races and they will have their own government form, which will function much like tribal governments with a few differences. They will be divided into 4 cultures: Winterheart, Frostbeard, Stonefist and Pinefinger. They worship "The Ancients", long gone titans that walked the earth, of which they believe to be decendants.

Northmen:
The northmen currently feature two cultures: Oving and Esving. In terms of mechanics they will probably be very much like norse germanics in vanilla. They worship the Mermaid, an enormous mermaid that keeps seamen safe from the fearsome Kraken. (I will come up with some more special features for the Northmen later on)

Stormborn:
The stormborn currently feature two cultures: Stormlings and Thunderlings. They came to nimeria as invaders from across the western oceans. They worship the stormgods Maelsar and Thungar, two gods that are brothers. Maelsar is the high Stormlord, ruler of the Stormworld and Thungar, his banished brother rules from his cloud sanctum. The stormborn are gifted with knowledge about electricity and are a steampunk-like civilization.

Westerlings:
The westerlings currently feature two cultures: Nothian and Lowak. The Nothian have been opressors of the Lowak culture for centuries. Most Nothians are full blood vampires, while very few Lowaks are vampire at all. The Nothian vampires possess immortality and basically use the Lowaks as cattle. The Lowaks are in much greater numbers than the Nothian vampires, but the Lowaks have always been too afraid to rise up against their opressors. A stormling invasion coming from the west however might cause a shift of power.

Shebari:
The Shebari culture group consists of two cultures: Zabari and Dajabi. The Shebari are the natives of the Shebar Jungle. They are animism believers and each Shebari undergoes a trial at the age of 16, which can grant them the power to shapeshift into one animal whenever he/she likes for the rest of his/her life. Only a few are gifted with the shapeshifting powers of stronger animals however, such as bears, rhinos, elephants and even dragons (very few).
Taik:
The Taik feature three cultures: Yari, Rokuro and Tuga. The Taik are nomad horselords which are worshippers of the Four Winds. Each wind direction (north, east, south, west) give the horselords unique powers and casus belli, creating a dynamic gameplay experience. Oh... and also: flying horses.
Terrosian:
The Terrosian feature two cultures: Pelakos and Romilian. The Terrosian are the finest architects, smiths and craftsman of Nimeria, their lands are full of resources, especially iron. Terrosian are somewhat unhuman, they live longer than the average human and have tougher skin than normal humans. Some say the purest Terrosian have iron running through their veins instead of blood, making them even stronger. The Terrosian have been an imperial force in Nimeria for as long as history has been recorded, however "The Iron Hegemony" is about to lose it's dominion over most of southern Nimeria due to a large scale rebellion.

Pyranians:
The Pyranian culture group consists of three cultures: Sunitines, Lunorines and Sulahmians. The Pyranians are masters of the mystic arts. The Sunitines and Sulahmians are able to control fire. And the Lunorines are masters of the dark arts and necromancy. Their culture is rich and their people are prosperous. Their civilization is built on merchants and trade.

Please let me know what you think! What do you like/dislike? What culture is your (least) favorite? I'm open to all sorts of feedback, questions and suggestions!
