From an historical standpoint, recreating Ming from that Uprising is actually nigh impossible. The support given to the ringleaders of the uprising was little and mostly made by fellow old guards of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom era and, differently from Sun's sponsored revolts and similar to the other uprisings of the period, the group lacked equipment and manpower to actually fight back the Qing armies. Maybe after the Xinhai Revolution I might give it a glance and make some ahistorical changes because it was in that exact moment that things get quite shady and fertile for ahistorical routes.

The mod doesn't create save files when I try to save a game, and as a result it looks like this:

cqrfOj5.png

This makes the mod totally unplayable, since I can't play up t0 1919 at once.

Just downloaded this mod, chose 1897 scenario as GER and saved. The save is there when I load up again, so the problem must be with your installation of the mod.

But there is an error message (which can be ignored):

ERROR : Wrong government position for 'apologetic clerk' personality ('Armaments Minister' instead of 'Foreign Minister') for Emmanouil Tsouderos (ID = 22013).
'Mods\1914\scenarios\save games\Germany_1897_January_1.eug' line 80054.
ERROR : Wrong government position for 'infantry proponent' personality ('Minister of Security' instead of 'Armaments Minister') for Georgios Theotokis (ID = 22123).
'Mods\1914\scenarios\save games\Germany_1897_January_1.eug' line 81084.

I corrected the mistakes of the ministers, shortly I will load the updated version of the MOD.

I think for alternate history path, there should be an option for all colonial powers available in the Pacific to take a larger chunk of China. I don't think any of them were satisfied.
USA could encroach Korea (as they have some issue in real life too and they could take is as a new Philippines.)
The Dutch could take Taiwan if it is not in Japanese hands already.
The French always toyed around the Guangxi and the coastline there.
And similar ones. Even Austria-Hungary and Italy as those two also wanted some coastal land.
What could trigger this? For example an even wider Boxer Rebellion with full Qing support. (If they loose.)

I really appreciate the effort that has gone into this mod, and don't want to sound negative. However there are a few things in here that don't work at all.

For example I've been playing Russia and I must say that the build up to The Great War was handled very well I thought, so much so it was like getting a whole new game. As HOI2 is my favourite HOI this was a great thing for me.

However it all started to go wrong then. The programmed events just didn't fit. For example getting war exhaustion after a few months (10% dissent) and knocking back a couple of sliders immediately, that of course take years to get to the right position. And then getting war exhaustion again. And again. Now I get this if the historical outcome looks like it's happening, but you shouldn't have events that reflect the historical position when Russia is doing rather well. I was stemrolling over Europe and the east (Japan was in the Central Powers). Moreover, I played Britain during WW1 just before this, and Britain didn't get war exhaustion despite not doing as well as Russia did in my later game. Now you might say Russia is more prone to that, but how do you know if the war is going really well for them? Moreover war exhaustion was also accompanied by several events of being blockaded by the enemy fleet (another 5% loss). What fleet? I got one of those when I occupied all the enemy capitals (save Japan) and the European central powers didn't have any ports!

This was bad enough but there's worse. Germany kept on accepting my peace offer. What peace offer? The first time it happened there was peace with the entente but Germany kept on fighting me. After I was just about to win, they accepted my peace offer again. I didn't make one. If this is again supposed to reflect some kind of historic settlement then don't impose it on the players. It's just really frustrating having put hours into playing this to find that Germany is restored to it's pre-war borders, all my allies teleport home, and my army is left *out of supply* in the middle of Germany. This also happened when I played Britain. All the allies that I'd spent ages micromanaging their forces over to the continent (The Raj, Canada, Australia etc) all suddenly teleported home. No transport required. I then withdrew from the entente (some problems with that too) and waited patiently for the peace treaty to expire. I then declared war on Germany again (costing a lot of dissent as my intervention sliders had been ruined by all that war exhaustion earlier) and after a couple of days - guess what - Germany accepted my peace offer again!!!! Wait for the peace treaty to expire. Declare war gain (more dissent) and same thing happens.

This mod is almost brilliant. And because it's almost brilliant it is even more frustrating when it all falls apart at the end. Because if it was bad from the start I would have not bothered wasting all that time.

Minor quibble - can't upgrade to Guards units. Which means I can't get the 1917 trench division or whatever it's called.
