I'm a long time watcher of the forums but I have never posted before. I finally ran into a question that I just couldn't find an answer for.

In the past I didn't play EUII too much so I'm relatively new to the game. I spent most of my hours away with Crusader Kings.

I have absolutely no experience modding. My question is: Would it be possible to mod the way vassalage works so that it works similarly to CK? I would like to be able to get a message popping up asking if I would like to declare war once a vassal breaks free. I seem to lose vassals after playing for many years without realizing it.

If this isn't possible, does anyone know if there is a message setting that tells you when one of your vassals breaks free? I wasn't able to find it in the long list.

Thanks in advance

It isn't possible to mod the way vassalage works, as far as I know. For the pop up message, it is possible to activate it. It is general though - you will get the same message regardless of who the suzerain and vassal is, so it can be sometimes difficult to see that your vassals have broken free. The message should indeed be in the list, under diplomacy I guess. :)

the only option is to have it pop up whenever x vassal breaks vassalage from y where x and y are variables defined by all of the countries in the world not specifically yours.
