I've just started playing the game and I love it (thank God for this forum though, or I'd be terminally lost) but something strange goes on when I have 'random events' on...

Out of the three games I've started, twice I've had my Monarch (Maximillian of Austria both times) get the 'temporary insanity' event. The message says that his stats will suffer for maybe a year or so, but when I check the archive even 10 years later, he went from 'good' to 'very poor' in everything!!! Is that a 'feature'? (He ain't what he used to be?)

Somebody help!, and my apologies if this has been covered before. BTW my version is 1.07C, the American version.

Thanks in advance...

You can check your current monarch stats to see if they've recovered or not. I once encountered this 'sickness' bug in one of my first games, but I thought Paradox had fixed the problem. If your monarch fails to recover, then send Paradoc the save game so they can figure out the problem. Also, for future reference, this post should have been in the FAQ forum, not the General area.

I am playing a GC game as Austria, and this event has happened to all of my monarchs. They're stats have never returned. I'm just chalking it up to hundreds of years of inbreeding. Who knew that Austria was the West Virginia of Europe.:)

Get off Pa you're crushin' my cigarettes!:)

I had the same thing happened with Henry VIII. And like Recky, it lasted until he ided about 15 years later. Strange.

Does Paradox know about this?
