I expected that monsters only appear from lairs. And by destroying those, less monsters should appear. But I see monsters coming from outside the map. and they keep coming in numbers. Isn't this a bug or cheating from the AI.

In the dragonlevel. I destroyed the lairs south and have free sight to the southern borders. And I see the monsters coming from the south. Because of this, the games seems to be extreme difficult to play

No, it is not a bug, neither it is a cheat of any evil sort. It is a planned complication of events, so that you would have enemies even when no lairs are on the map. I too, dislike this approach. Feels like fighting an invisible ghost. No one's there, yet they keep attacking.

I think it depends on the map's design. I remember some maps where monsters don't come from the edges of the map after I cleared the area, while other maps they do. It was this way in the first Majesty game as well. Doesn't bother me as long as it is part of that map's design.

Lol, i love when monsters spawning without connection with lairs. As most of the lairs are destroyed, monsters stops to attack, heroes stops to do something else than walking around their guilds in small radius and its become booooring.

In the end it is nice to have some spawn. But only at the beginning it makes far to difficult. They could have done something that only when the lairs are destroyed they spawn (and make new lairs).
