Im not sure if this question has been asked but Im sorry if it has.

I played DD for awhile now and had know problem with it but when I stoped playing it for some time I got back on it again. When I got in too the game my mouse started to lagg but all the Units and everything els is moving fine and smoothly its just my mouse. No ather game has this problem just DD. Is there any way i can fix this?

Depends if it is mouse related or a the game running slower.
Have you changed drivers for anything or updated your mouse or DirectX?
Are you using the Mouse driver that came with your Mouse or one that windows installed?

Im not sure about the mouse drivers, because it works with all my other games and it has never done this till now.

Another thing is my game is not running slow its just the mouse, the time and every thing is moving the way it should.

What about my question on other updates or programs you installed from when it was working fine to when it was not?

I'll second this - I'm playing HOI2:DD and this is now happening to me sometimes as well. I've found that at times a reboot will seem to clear the problem, until the next time I save, exit, and then restart the game. At that point it becomes extremely laggy - Mike is right in that units seem to be moving fine, but moving the mouse is very choppy and trying to move the screen view to a different map area by moving the mouse right/left/up/down is very slow.

When I minimized to Windows, and bring up task manager, HOI is using 99% of CPU resources, which is normally not the case....hmmm. Also, tried disabling my virus scanner, but no affect. I haven`t changed anything on my system, but I did get some updates sent down from Windows Update earlier in the week. I don`t know if it's related but it's the only thing I can think of.

Let me know if anybody else solves this - if I find something I'll post follow up here. Thanks!

Um I havent installed nothing yet. Except AIM, and 2 other games.
Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.

no, its not that serious. If you have the same problem i did, then its XFIRE. It just recently added support for DD, and as it did in HOI2 Vanilla, it would lag for a while. What you need to do is go to ur options, and turn off ingame chat popup thing. The lag will be gone. Alternatively, you could turn off xfire.

*Edit* This solved a problem that was posted by a user with similar symptoms.

Ok thanks I will try the Xfire thing even though Xfire is always on when I play and my friend can play just fine with his on. It also can be that Aim is running also and I know Aim and other instant messaging programs like AIM,MSN and yahoo take alot of CPU.

That is why turning off background programs is in my list of standard advice. :)
I had never even heard of Xfire till now, so thanks for the tip guys, it will allow me to help others with the same problem in the future.
