* The Problem

Have been trying to start a multiplayer game, you can look at our thread here . We have had the same problem, which has been duplicated several times. When ever one of us annexes another country the game crashes.

Now this has happened instantly when the player clicks the annex button in the diplomatic screen or a couple minutes after doing so. We’ve used different hosts as well as different countries who annex a smaller one. We have started a game and proceeded to DOW and then annex which resulted in a crash and have let several years go by then DOW, fight a long war, then annex with same result.

We also DOW’d larger countries fought a large war then negotiated a peace where we get several provinces with no crash. I have save files of before and after annexing countries. I have asked the other players to add their computer stats in this thread. The two computers I listed above I have used to duplicate these problems.

I Thank you for any assistance that you can give.

Well I will throw you back to the MP forum as the experts there are more likely to be able to help.

Got it too :(
Playing on a LAN. It's always the non-hosting computer that crashes for us no matter who does the annexing - host, non-host and even when the AI annexes. The non-host computer just freezes and then drops.

Something for patch 1.04 :)

yes, ran into this again in our MP game. Seems if annexed country is not in any alliance it will be fine, but if part of an alliance ctd.

Just letting it get back towards the top of the MP thread some...

This seems to be the case for me as well. I annexed Baden --> crash. Later, though, I annexed Annam --> no crash. Hm....except that Annam controlled Cambodia as a satellite, which I also annexed. Darn. Never mind about the alliance then I guess. Maybe there's another hole in the problem for uncivilized countries?

Doh! There goes unifying Italy or Germany in MP. You'd think someone would have seen this problem in beta testing for the game or one of the 4 patches out by now... wouldn't you?

well, in our MP game italy is unified and prussia has all but 3-4 german minors... it just requires alot of restarting....

Bump.

Does Paradox record this as a proper bug when they whisk it away to the MP forum? This really is a critical bug that needs fixing. It happens like clockwork, every time a nation in an alliance is annexed, the game crashes and we have to rehost.

Edit: I'm in a different game than the people who posted above.
