So how much of the mp crowd is actually gonna buy DOOMSDAY 1) at all, 2) as soon as it comes out, or 3) after a few patches? I guess I am a little pesemistic noteing the lack of support for mp - is there any point to throw out 20 euros just for an intel screen and some "gadgets" and potential more bugs?

I predict that the multiplayer community will upgrade quickly, much as they moved from HoI 1 to HoI 2. There's at least one feature which is especially useful for MP play and that's the autopilot for the production sliders. When you're playing in real time, you really don't want to be fiddling with your production sliders, do you?

I'm gonna get it; I would love to see if they include alot of post-war events, such as the Korean War.

Plus, it adds 5 years right----it is an expansion pack, right?

Looks like most if not all the aussie group is getting doomsday :)

Ill get it for sure, though i fear the expanded diplomacy will require even more houserules.

Except for automated sliders, are there more improvements to the MP side?

for instance:

* the CTD when clicking units on american Tps
* Losing techs when lagging
* the strange alliances that sometimes pop up
* the GPW thing

1 might get fixed if you sent in the save..., 2 3 will prolly not be fixed. As to nr 4 I doubt that they will ever manage to get it right.. after all its been going on since HOI1 :eek:

I think we should wait to see if the game actually works first hehe. It looks too me like they just threw in a bunch of nice new diplomatic/tec options without giving alot of thought towards the effect it might have on actual gameplay.

What i have never understood and proabably never will is the constant need to change what works therby messing up stuff, insted of fixxing the origonal problems to begin with.

Automatic sliders? bah what is the world comming too

Well that concept works if you pay a monthly fee in an MMP game like Lineage, or EverQuest. They have to keep a steady stream of revenues to pay the bills you know.

Its a similar concept to planned obsolescence. In this case its planned improvements. Enough to make it just barely worth re-packaging.
