I'm pretty new to multi-player and am trying to figure out a good set of message settings. Does anyone have some suggestions on what they find works well for them?

Since I'm not used to playing without pausing, the first few runs have been tough. There's just so much that needs to be done when you're at war and trying to improve your economy at the same time.

Send to the game log all messages about economic things like success of merchants. Don't have pop-ups for anything that isn't vital to know during the course of the game right as it happens. Some people don't play with ANY pop-ups, because you can lose a crucial battle just for the inability to right-click an army into the province when a pop-up gets in the way.

Don't have the succes of merchants in popups, but the removal of your merchants from a CoT can be very important to have a popup for if you are a trade nation like Portugal or Holland. In war, you can always turn them off.

All messages that concern armies or navies should only be shown in the log.
All diplomatic offers should show up as a little box in the upper right corner.
If i trade alot, the messages concerning success or failure as well as being kicked out of CoTs are shown as pop-ups.
