I was thinking: Even though its too late for new ideas to go forth now it would be cool if there were certain commands only usable on other players in an MP game.

Things like giving money, or swapping one province for another, etc.

in EU2 it was a bit of a pain because if I wanted to sell some land I had i didnt want we'd either have to edit the files, or we'd have to do a lot of 'gifts' which was OK but you couldn't specify amounts. then to give land you had to go to war and then offer it if it was core, or let them conquer it if it was not.

I hope if CK is MP [i think it is..] that someday, there will be special commands to enrich the game when dealing only with other players and not the AI which can be unfortunately very flawed.

Indeed it would be nice: very often the AI is nice to play with, but only MP can make an extensive use of the game's potential. Thus sending money (and be able to be secret funding or public donation), swapping lands, giving away lands would be great.

Imagine the diplomacy if you could cow another player into giving you one of his fiefs
Imagine the bargaining for swapping provs
Imagine being the brain behind a war by sending money to a guy who has the odds against him
Imagine the interwoven networks you'd have to deal with in Outremer...

*DROOL*

the general notion is you only play with people you can trust. These commands would only make it possible to do certain things. And selling off a duchy or a city I think wouldnt be completely out of synch. :)

These arent extra commands to give players any kind of advantage...just to faciliate the things we do in MP already so we dont need to edit the files and stop the game all the time.

Well, those commands would exist to allow certain things... from time to time:

- Sending money could be done as often as you like (maybe could your convoy get highjaked... you lose your money before it reaches its destination...)
- Swapping lands... one in a while
- Buying/selling an estate... nobles did that a lot with smaller landpieces to get some money to go on a crusade or just buy need of cash...

Just a wild thought though (I know the game has already been prog., so no need to tell me that's impossible):

When you'd click on a prov, a % would be displayed of how much you effectively own. That way the smaller estates could be represented without altering the map.

It would go something like this:

County of Nivernais:

Estate R (22%), owned by Lord R, vassal of Duke of Burgundy
Estate S (15%), owned by Lord S, vassal of Count of Champagne
Estate T (19%), owned by Duc of Burgundy
Estate U (34%), owned by King of France
Estate V (10%), owned by Lord R, vassal of Duke of Burgundy

Each Count/Duke/King would levy taxes accordingly:

King of France: 34% of Prov income
Duke of Burgundy: 41% of Prov income
Count of Champagne: 15% of Prov income

On the map the County of Nivernais would be displayed as belonging to the Duke of Burgundy...
But he would have to beware if the actions the others could take to get their hands on for example Lords' R or S lands. Should for example the King of France acquire Estate V (currently owned by Lord R), the County would be shown as belonging to the King of France and the tax income levied accordingly...

Does this idea sound stupid to you?:)

I don't think swapping provinces would be necessary. After all, these are the middle ages, and with all those inter-nobility marriages going on, especially in an MP there should be claims on provinces nearly everywhere!
So you only need to "back up" a formal claim of your ally... You might even hurt your enemy by grabbing away a province from him! :p

And if everything fails, you can still swap sons & daughters instead of provinces...;)
