Ok, so We've played Hoi2 together with a friend for hours, possible 100 hours of Hoi2.

Then we got bored and moved on and I formatted my comp.

Now we're trying to play Hearts again and we have a problem, he's easily several days ahead "ingame" time and when we switch who hosts its the same problem but vice versa.

Does anyone know what the connection problems could be? As far as I know all other games non Hoi2 work fine.

Also; there are no mods, my computer is recently formatted I have anti virus and anti spyware.

Its a sync issue, try slowing the game speed for a bit till your friend catches up to the date. :) Then go back to your normal speed.

It doesnt work on ANY speed and it used to work even at extremely fast. Now even on normal the game gets several days time delay, constantly freezing at 1:00 and 0:00 and sometimes at 19:00. Having to slow down or stop every 5 minutes for 5 minutes inorder to catch up really doesnt make the game playable and I'm reaally peeved cuz' it USED to work just fine. Now I have no idea why it doesnt work, Vanilla doesnt work, CORE doesnt work, modern day scenario doesnt work, neither 1.3a or 1.3b worked and 1.3a USED to work. The only thing that does work is A single player and B Lan, and yes we tried Hamachi and THAT doest work either its about 5% better.

That doesnt fix the problem. We want it so that the lag don't happen in the first place. (PS im the other guy that sid was trying to play with)
Heres some more details. We both have powerful comps, so specs aren't a problem, But I do have the faster of the 2 computers. It does not matter who hosts, there is always a noticable lag that can last for several seconds everyday for the client. The host does not have this problem.
The hosts game continues at whatever speed it was set where the client always has this lag. The only way we have been able to semi get around it is to pause EVERYday and hour or 2 after it useually pauses for the client. but damn it gets really annoying... cant get anywhere in a game.
like if just left the game running at normal or above normal speed for like a minute the host would be a good few days ahead of the client. and at the fastest setting u can easily get months ahead.
it does not matter what setting we chose, weve tried different versions different mods, weve tried with properly setup firewalls and just plain turning them off, properly setup router, weve even tried enabling DMZ in the router in case the problem is there.
Another note, in single player or in a lan type setting both computers play the game perfectly fine. Its just multiplayer over the net.
If there is anything we are missing please someone mention something... no matter how unlikely

Normal is too fast for play across the internet. People usually play at Slow or Below Normal. This is fine whe you're at war so I suggest you play a scenario or campaign which starts like this, e.g. the 1939 campaign.

Ok, umm no. It USED to work on extremely fast with no visible de-syncing for like.... hours of play, now for some reason even on below normal it dysincs.

Well I've been in many games that tried to run that fast and they always started lagging. Could be you guys used to have an unusually good connection but now you're being routed through a satellite or something. Try monitoring the quality of your connection with pings and the like.

Andrew

Our ping is fine, its between 80-120 ms, and we both have high speed cable. The problem I also know is at his end not mine I can run MP games just fine at flat out.
