Mulitplayer Online Problems and Freezes

Hi. I recently bought the game and have had a couple of problems.
First I tried to play a multiplayer game last night and couldn't host or join a game. I kept getting a "can't find game at IP" error message. I have a DSL connection and am running Windows ME. I have also patched to version 1.9.

I've played other games online and haven't had a problem yet.

The game also freezes when I try to exit. Although not a big deal, its a bit of a pain.

When you tried to host a game what happened?
And you enter a correct IP adress when you tried to join?

When I tried to host it just sat there. After a couple of minutes of waiting I jumped on ICQ and found the others were trying to get in but couldn't.

The IP was correct, and as far as I can tell i was doing everything right inside the game itself.
