Maur, Band, DarkHorse, Prince BuB and myslef played for a few hours tonight... we got through 1440 or so with minimal MP errors, though there were still a few... plus the occassional CTD... overall i say it looks promising

Pretty pleased to hear that after all the bad stuff that has been happening.
Perhaps we are finally on the road to MP- the board seems to be livening up a little bit anyhow.

WE had 3 players for most of the game... but as many as 5. We really didn't have to restart that much, though there were still some problems when we did.
We are up to about 1470...
Maur controls France as Burgundy, as well as the Netherlands and North Germany
I control Austria, Most of Italy, and southern Germany
and Dark Horse controls the British Isles, and Navarre
Maur is leading in VPs, but we aren't really playing for that... It seems to be running pretty well though.

What are the difficulty settings? And how did Dark Horse lose the French possessions?
lol... well... actually BuB was france and got killed down to 2 provinces. Dark Horse then joined and took England, and they decided to split with Burgundy gtting france and England getting the rights to Spain and scandanavia.

Austria tried to intervene on behalf of france... but the stupid hungarians, bohemians, Venetians, Papals, and the other half of Europe decided to DoW me... so I had to abandon that thinking.

But man, this was tough war! As already said, i played as Burgundy, BUB as France. I got very unlucky in the beginning, losing Jean de Pressy with over half of my army to France allies... lag didn't allow me to retreat... So, once, of my seven province, three were captured, and two more under siege...
By some miracle, i managed to completly crush France, though
(well, there were two deciding battles, one in Alsace, where BUB lost 15k, and one in Flanders, where he lost over 20k, shortly one after another. And i got almost no losses)
It's allright Lord Joseph you did your best. I guess the Empire of France was just not to be
Difficulty is hard. Well, Dark Horse just gave them to me, and yes, i was amazed by it too...
Not that he had much choice anyway
Btw, the funny thing is that despite i hold all French provinces except three, all of Netherlands and about 8 in Germany , i have lower BB (32) than Lord Joseph (over 50...)
Btw, i don't know if we will continue this game... which is too bad, though it's already the longest game i played, i would really like to play more than couple of decades...
But it seems that getting players together is quite hard...

another game tonight... with 3 players. We actually went about 13 years in a row without any crashes or restarts... then a random CtD caused us to all realize how tired we were... and we called it a night. All in all, I think it was a pretty solid game... ran pretty smoothly.
one thing we noticed about the chat bug, it doesnt appear to apply to the game host... and applies most to the people with the lowest connections... that was interesting...
as for the game... I was england, Maur was Burgundy and Band was Castille. We are at aroun 1440 and Almost the whole British Isles belong to myself, as well as Briteny, the channel provinces, and orleanis. I also have france (3 provs) as my vassal and ally.
Burgundy made territorial gains in france, and vassalized about 7 german minors.
Castille took both granda provinces and one from portugal.

Actually, it game started with me and Joseph, and also with BUB as Venice and with Seductive Queen (known from RPG forum Queen of Neapol) as Hungary, and Merry, a girl BUB hapenned to know, playing as Austria.
Yes, i was amazed too by the fact we seemed to have more women in our game than happen to frequent those boards
Anyway, we splitted due to the fact we had some lag and we weren't really near each others. So, they were left in their Balkan/Italian mess, and we got Band as Castille, and played on.
Well, it wasn't that hard for me as war against BUB.We splitted France easily, and i concentrated on Germany (two wars in which i vassalized 7 minors, and let Brabant (which i inherited later) annex two more)
Joseph omitted the fact he still have three more vassals, one province Britanny, Scotland and Eire
Well, he will annex them soon, i suppose...
We are almost even with VP (me and Joseph, band is behind), and are pretty even on almost everything...(though he is a bigger, he has poorer provinces, so my research is a better, especially i engaged much more in trade) seems to be very interesting game...
I wonder if he would want to cede his French provinces to me, what would ya say, Joseph?

btw, it seems that 3 players games are still very smooth. 5 players (our original one, with BUB and girls) seemed to have much more problems. Dunno about 4 players ones, i think they are still manageable.

if we were playing on Very hard I wouldnt have done what I did
I meant 13 years in a row, at the end there... we are at around 1440 overall... Maur was quite upset to leave our lovely female companions, but seeing how his computer is sometihng out of the 1980's, we didn't have much choice

I always recommend Very Hard for multiplayer. We periodically save and adjust badboy totals to reflect the annexation of pagan territories, if we're in the colonial age.
