Hi

Im trying to play a home based LAN game, but I cannot. I know what the problem is one comp has Arm and one just Doomsday. The questions are....

I have moded some of my in game data, just basic Game Editor stuff, Generals, ministers etc. Will this stop me playing a LAN game even if i download Arm Version?
And if so how can i remove these changes (the biggest being serveral ministers which have been 're-invented') turning it back to 'factory settings?'

Or is the insilation of Arm enough to get the computers compatable?

There is your issue right there... both have to be the same version to play together

i know that. But i dont want to purchase and install Arm to find out that i have to re-install all of HOI in order to have the 'original/genuine' ministers generals, etc.

So can anyone answer the questions asked.....

Okay

Any changes to your DB files will change the Checksum value of your game.... as such it will prevent you from playing Multiplayer with anyone that does not have the same Checksum as you.

This applies to all versions of HOI2

Arma is an add on expansion.... it does not replace everything. So simply installing Arma on top of your modifed version of HOI2 DD will not do what you want.

Here is what i recommend.

1. Move your current HOI2 installation to another location.
2. Insert your HOI2 DD disk and use the repair option to "reinstall".
3. Patch to the latest patch 1.3.

You should then be back to the original install and you get to keep your modified version.
