I am playing England in the GC. I am allied with Spain (even though she hates me). France attacks Spain. All of France's allys jump in, all of Spain's allies jump in.

I click on "Declare War" with France and it says I will lose 3 stablity, 1 because of True Faith and 2 because of no CB.

So I don't go to war, and a month later, I lose 1 stablity because I dishonered my alliance with Spain.

What gives? Or does the 1.09 path fix this... I have not played the game with any patches yet.

I checked this whole forum and the README.TXT for the patch, but I did not see this problem addressed.

Any answers would be appreciated.

When France declared war on Spain there should have come a icon with the flag of Spain in the top right corner. Then you click on that and you can choose to honor or dishonor the alliance.

..... or you can go to Options then Message Settings and make the message a "pop up" one.

Spain would have asked you to join in the war but the small icon is easily missed.

I ha d the same problem at the beginning. Changing the settings to have a pop-up screen appears when your allies ask you to join in a war(and in numerous other instances) is definitely convenient. the "little" flag is really *little*.
