Hello all at the technical suport.

I have an annoying problem. I cannot really play EUII on my notebook. All the necessary requirements should be met, and I even downloaded the update patch.

However, I keep getting this nice "the program has performed an illegal operation as will be shut, any unsaved data will be lost....send a detailed report.."
This happens when I try to load the singleplayer, multiplayer or tutorial mode. So the crash happens always when the loading-window should appear after this selection.

In the beginning there is also something wrong with the main loading window, it's cut to half, the upper half changes between the picture and a black-space, so it's flashing.

Here are my infos:
- Country version of Game is Scandinavian and the patch is 1.09
- I am running WinXP Home SP2
- Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M7400 Intel Pentium M Processor, 1400 MHz (587 MHz)
- with 502Mb RAM
- 19,7Gb free on my HDD
-Video: Intel Graphics Extreme 82851/82855 (Intel Extreme Graphics 2 driver)
-Sound Card brand, Crystal WDM Audio v6.14
-DirectX v9.0c

I read the sticky thread before posting this

I'm assuming you have no mods installed.

Rename the AVI directory under the EU2 main directory, reboot and try again. That should at least stop the loading window problem.

If the problem continues after that, uninstall the game completely using the procedure in the sticky thread (saving any wanted games elsewhere first), defrag your hard disk, install EU2 then 1.09 immediately.
