My old empires wont delete

If I delete my old empires form before the economy update then play Stellaris and exit it or just wait awhile in general they come back when I check my empires again. I have no idea why they won't delete

I have Utopia, leviathans, apocalypse, humanoids, and synthetic dawn.
I play on Xbox.
I think I have deleted them but if I were to check back a while after they show up again.

I believe you need to go in and manually delete them using the memory management on the console. Note that this may clear your save games as well.
