Name and spelling?

I'm busy creating a scenario for myself, and I have got all the technical details down. I have the shields I want, the country tags I want, leaders, monarchs, etc. But the one thing I don't have is the correct spelling of something.

Is it the Kalmar Union, or the Union of Kalmar? And, is it Kalmar or Calmar? Am I even close to spelling this correctly? I've seen it done several different ways, and I don't know which is correct. Since I intend to post an AAR on playing this scenario, I don't want to get cussed at by those who know better than I...

I wouldnt worry too much. Just write it the way you have seen it.
All will be correct. Places names vary in spelling and pronounciation according to the domicile of the individual people.
What looks wrong for a French person may look correct for an Eskimo.

Kalmar unionen is the swedeihs spelling, Union of Kalmar and Kalmar Union means the same thing so it doesnt matther wich. Languages wich use the roman alfabeth doesnt change the spelling of names often so it is propobly Kalmar. But there is always exeptions so i am not sure.

My nifty new Encyclopedia Britannica (from 1910) uses Kalmar Union. Though when referring to the town of Kalmar, it indicates that Calmar is an alternate spelling.

I think I will stick with Union of Kalmar then. If I were playing it from a Swedish perspective, I'd use the proper Swedish spelling, just because I like to be as correct as possible. Alas, when I post teh AAR on my sceanrio, you will see that the Swedes will have great cause to resent and hate the Union....
