Need help with strange CK bug.

Um, so I've gotten Deus Vult and now the Alternative Scenario Mod, but I've had a VERY strange problem, in vanilla CK AND DV, as well as the mod.

You know how when you click on the portrait of a character and it shows you their traits, friends, rivals, allies, vassals, etc? How it's supposed to be a nice tan color?

Well, for me, it's changed to a very dark grey, almost black, that's impossible to read, unless I go to religious mapmode and scroll over a white (Catholic) province.

Is this a common bug, or is there something very wrong with my Crusader Kings stuff?

Otherwise, the mod, and DV have been working perfectly, great job, Veldmaarschalk!

But I can't play with the unreadable "character sheet".

Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening? I can provide a printed screen if needed.

Remember Paradox doesn't support mods so the mod could have done something to your system could be a virus instead of a bug or a corrupted file or 1000s of anythings. So, take the mod off and try just CK and Dues Vult and see what happens.

The only thing I can advise you is to do a complete reinstallation of CK+DV+TASS

I have. Several times. Besides TASS. In fact, DV IMPROVED what was happening before, which was rampant crashing and making the grey character sheets even more unreadable.

I've removed all mods, and just gotten the patches a few times, but that doesn't seem to help any.

This is the most readable I could get it to be.

Picked William the conquerer because most everyone would probably be familiar with him.

It looks like you are missing the char_bground.bmp file

I have uploaded one here

Put the .bmp file into C:\....\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings\gfx\Interface

Then see how it looks in game

It works perfectly now, exactly like it should. Veldmaarschalk, you're the greatest modder/mod I've ever talked to. Well, and the only one.

The only thing I'm still wondering about is WHY did the char_bground file get removed in the first place? Ah, well, CK: DV TASS works now, thanks.
