How about a grand campaign where England controls provinces in France at the height of the hundred years war with france as its vassal and good relations between the two_Or you could make a crusades scenario with england france hre and austria aganst all muslim nations.

Well, some historical:

1)Livonian War.
2)French and Indian War.
3)Time of Troubles.
4)War of Austrian Succession.
5)War of Polish Succession (Or its already exists?).
6)English Civil War.
7)Religious Wars in France.
8)Age of Charles V (Habsburg Empire (Spain and Austria) as one Nation).
9)Italian Wars.
10)Dutch Revolution.
11)War of Ukraine's Indepedence.
So what do you think? I can post Historical Background for those Scenarios, if you want.

Fictional:

1)Holy Roman Empire is united under one nation (With name Holy Roman Empire, and, ofcourse, its Emperor will be Emperor of HRE).
2)Huguenot France (Reformed France, with many troops. And ofcourse, with many enemies).
3)Lithuanians fail in their war against Russian principalities before 1492, and won't gain Smolensk, Kursk, Ukraine, etc. (Russia divided to two nations in 1492: Kievan Rus (Ukraine, plus South-eastern provincies of Poland-Lithuania in GC) and Moskvitan Rus (Original Russia, plus some northeastern Polish-Lithuanian provincies))
4)Anjou Empire (England wons in Hiundred War, and English King claims France for himself) (Monarch files should be edited for England, making Anjou Kings rulling) (Naples and Hungary is English Vassals (those states were Anjou too, and if England becomes major Anjou Nation, so they would be their vassals)).
5)Moors won at Las Navas De Toledo, and still rule Southern Iberia in 1492, while Aragon and Castille still separated.

So, what you think?

About all this?

New scenario

I'm working on a new scenario myself, which would be a post-III Word War one. I've finished the map, I'm currently editing armies, diplomacy and populations datas. I've been working on Samuel Huntington theories (for those who may know about this guy) of "civilizational areas".
The hypothesis is that a major nuclear strike happened, in which Russia lost some territories to China ; Pakistan as an ally of China was invaded by India and reunified under a "tolerant" Indian government, thus settling inner conflicts between Moslems and Hinduists. After the conflict, all nations gathered to affirm their faith in the ideas of a renewed UN Organization ; nuclear weapons were banned for good (and even if not, the tech level is now so low that all armies returned to the age of the sword). The Christian Churches managed to agree on a new concile with the Pope, which restored the Church's unity... But how long this may last ? In this devasted world, everybody's working to rebuild, but everybody has also understood that new wars may yet arise...
The scenario features 8 major powers as follows :
- European Union w/o England and Norway, but + Switzerland (one territory even well defended in the core of the Union would not make sense...), + Croatia and Slovenia (yet to debate...), and + of course the remains of the European colonial empires (some caribean islands, Tahiti, etc...)
- United India (+ Pakistan and Burma)
- United Africa from Ethiopia to Zaïre (including South Africa, etc...)
- United South America (from Guatemala to Argentina, including Cuba and other islands...)
- United States (+ Panama, Liberia, Hawaï, 1 territory in the Philippines, 2 territories in Palestine...)
- United Islamic world (Turkey + Persia + Egypt + Libya + Algiers + Indonesia + Cyprus + Saudi Arabia + Syria + Irak)
- "Great China" with some Russian territories, + Vietnam, Taïwan, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore
- Russia with strong links onto former USSR territories (unifying USSR again would make it to easy for Russia), but including Belarus, and w/o far eastern territories
Minor countries are as follows :
- Norway with Iceland - link with EU
- Britain with Gibraltar and some islands, but without Ulster (given that there is now a united Church, we may consider that Ireland reached its reunification, but yet to debate - + Belize in order to allow annexation by the US in case the former annexes Mexico, hehehe...) - idem but about to break
- Poland - idem
- Livonian union - idem + Russia
- United Czech Republic (+ Slovaquia) - idem
- Hungary - EU vassal
- Rumania - link with EU
- Bulgaria - idem
- Serbia (with Kosovo) + Montenegro (Ragusa) as vassal
- Ukraine - link with Russia + EU
- Georgia - idem
- Armenia - idem
- Azerbaïdjan - link with Islam
- Khazakstan (w/o Baïkonour, belonging to Russia) - idem
- Turkmenistan - idem
- Uzbekistan - idem
- Morocco + Western Sahara - link with EU
- Tunisia - idem
- Sudan - link with Islam
- English Africa (Gambia, Gold Coast and Nigeria) - link with UK and Africa
- French Africa (the rest... from Mauritania to Gabon) - EU vassal, about to break
- United Arab Emirates - link with the US
- Thaïland - link with India and China
- Philippines - link with the US
- Japan - idem
- Australian Union (+ New Zealand, Papouasia and Fidji)
- Brazil - link with United South America
- Mexico - strong link with the USA but also with South America
- Canada - US vassal
- Quebec - link with the US
- Koriaks' and Tchouktches' Republic (Kamtchatka and more) - China vassal about to break, strong sympathy to Russia.
There it is ... (!)

All Majors' territories were more or less balanced to equalize the chances, even if India and Africa are in my mind less fun to play (the terra incognita syndrom, alas !). 3 more points :
- Religious issue : given that all territories are occupied, I've converted Orthodox countries to Catholicism (more diplomats), but I've yet kept Sunni and Chiites. However, EU has some moslem provinces... And religious events will still happen (!) Catholicism is thus the "default" or "basic" religion for former pagan countries such as Africa, United States, South America, etc...
- I've put lot of double (even triple) CB shields on some frontier territories in order to create a lot of permanent Casus Belli...
- Revolts are so to say eliminated, given that CB shields were largely distributed in order to avoid a boring "peace keeping mission" game...
Here's the questions I'd like to submit :
1/ Any comment on minors, new minors wished ?
2/ What about links between countries (alliances, mariages, vassalages wished...)
3/ Would you be ready to replace your province.csv file in order to redispatch ressources and religions ?
4/ CoT wished ?
5/ Tech. groups wished for countries ?
6/ Still wish revolters ? (quite boring in my mind) For which countries/precise provinces ?
7/ Still wish to keep Orthodox faith, idem for Pagan ? (which would hamper initial development...)
8/ Want a change between minors/majors (espacially UK will be wished I suppose... But the philosopy of it is that Britain should be annexed by the EU, sorry !) ?
9/ Special wishes regarding armies composition ?
10/ Consideration on what the initial tech levels should be (beware, it may affect the evolution of the whole stuff, and don't forget that EVERYBODY's been nuked... It's you to say how far they've been !) ?
11/ Balance between trade and tax revenues ? (beware again, there's not an inch of free land ! but some TP that may be burnt still, hehehe...)
12/ Other comments/questions/wishes ?

So, last thing... I expect to finish it by the end of next week, and if your answers are too numerous I will open a specific thread ;-)
CU all...

RE: That new scenario...

Well, tech level is... begining European EU level!

Young Sergeant looking for promotion... And becomes Leutinant!:)

Napoleonic scenario is in my mind unrealistic, because warfare technics were totally different. Or we should imagine an EU game W/O fortresses (see specific thread) except for capital cities.
Furthermore, the original board game stopped in 1792, and another board game (don't remember the name) completed this one.

For those interested in a fun game on napoleonic era, pretty same style as EU (well, let's say a fun strategy game, that's all), try "L'empereur" (spelled as is), you can download it on theunderdogs.com (for free).

By the way, scenario is finished and working w/o special crashes except "normal" ones.
some problems remain :
- I have difficulties to edit diplo. settings, but still, having chosen (mostly) the right tags, "normal" diplo. is taking over (war between USA and South America, war between Russia and moslem minors, etc...)
- Still need to edit town pop., but I confess that I'm getting bored with the simple idea of calculating pro-rata pop. from my pop. matrix...
- Still need to edit armies (must find "Military Balance" at the library...)
- Would be interesting to edit file province.csv, but people will need to backup the original one to keep on playing normal games.

Anyway for those interested by this (incomplete but working) scenario, I can supply .eug and .inc files, so e-mail me at montaure@noos.fr
