Need some help for MP please

I have read the to does on MP-Router setup carefully and gone through it with a friend thoroughly (twice). Yet we were completely unable to connect to either ones game.

If either someone who is being a host regularly with working settings could provide a hosted game I can connect myself to in order to check wether I have to troubleshoot my settings or my friend his, or someone really sophisticated could go through settings with me maybe via msn or the like I would be really grateful.

thanks a lot for offering your time. I am sorry I could not show up in time. I am experiencing trouble getting the version right. Looks like I have to reinstall since every copy of this game has either vanilla or Daim with it.

What version are you trying to play?
