New game - CTD

I have just bought the game, installed it and downloaded and installed 1.07 patch.

I have tried 4 times to play the Fantasia scenario (as China) and each time the game has CTD after a random period of time but generally about 30 minutes or so.

Any advice?

I don't know as I never play the fantasia scenario.

Try one of the historical scenarios it is what the game is made for!

EU II crashes every once in ahwile - while it is really annoying, but as long as you have autosave set to yearly you don't loose that much of the game

That's wierd, since I've had the game for about a year, but it almost never crashes. Five times since I bought it, max.

I assume I must be doing something wrong as by patch 7 the game should have a degree of stability.

Only 5 times ? How do you play the game then? If I have 5 CtD's during one GC I find it little.

I have played 2 GCs with 1.07 and have had only a couple of crashes. Maybe it's because I seldom play more than an hour at a time but I found the game to be very stable now.

First this should be in the support forum, I will move you there.

First things to try.
Rename your EU2 AVI folder to AVI_back.
Update your Video and sound drivers.
Update your operating system.
