New map for multiplayer - but which one?

Boys and girls,

Most of you should be aware of this, but possible some are not:

In the modding subfora, two new maps have been created for EU2.

Mymap, which has 400 new provinces:

A province list of mymap can be found here:

There's also Kasperus' map:

Screenshots can be found here:

Both projects are pretty much finished and playable. I believe the AGCEEP high council is working on a new map as well.

Regardless,

It would be nice if the mp community would adopt a new map as a standard. EU2 with the old map gets a bit old.
A new map will mean that warfare in Europe would be fresh and all the extra provinces will mean an entirely new challenge to colonise as well.
The advantages are obivous: an entire new life for this game.

So, which map would have our favour? We could then try to test this for mp purposes, with a few players, before doing a large campaign.
I plan to start a new map campaign after DU 1.5 has been finished in a month of 3 or 4. All remaning bugs should be fixed then.
But which map?

My vote goes to Kasperus' map.

Kasperus' map looks the nicest to me as well. Need to fix all events/bugs though...

I am planning to do a test run in SP with one of the two in the weekend and help with bug fixing.

But first I would like to know which map this community is most likely to adopt...

Mymap seems to be the most used map in the SP community.

My problem is that Kasperus' map is more likeable since it focuses more on Europe and less on freaking Asia ;)

well, we need to learn new colonize areas and new ways in both maps too.

The real question is, do we want to spend time on this now or what till the maps are really finished? ;)

They *are* finished. Only some events (whith province id numbers) don't work properly.

Enough finished to test out effects. How does colonization work? where are the CoTs? Warfare in Europe? And so on.

according FAL, casperus maps itself are finished, but not events with province numbers.

Engel and me played MP with Kasp's map already. Its pretty cool, but there are some small bugs in that. Wien is turned to Protestant when I was Austria, and I don't think it did it IRL (or am i stupid?) Still, its good as I said. :)

Kasperus' Map is great! :) I have been playing a couple of SPs already is it has captured me.. I strongly recommend it.. even though I haven't tested it out in MP, I think it will encountered the same bugs and stuff that vanilla and such has.. well, Kasp is gonna release a new version sooner than later with new addons and changes so we might wait up a little bit to test this thing out..

Example of wrong province ID in an event?

If most would agree with kasperus' map, we could do a quick bugfix for the historical events for the 12 majors played in mp.

Perhaps we need some balance fixes as well... though I reckon we need testing before that.

Well actually I think all the historical events are fixed, but the reformation events do need fixing.
