Hello, I have windows xp and HOI2 1.2 UPHQ. I have a microsoft windows firewall that allows for exceptions. HOI2 is selected as one of those exceptions. I had no trouble connecting to other ppl games on v-net in the begining, however I had a problem hosting games. No one waa able to join and they all got the firewall/router message.
Anyway, I turned off my firewall completely for a while to see if that would help out so others could join my hosted games, but it made no difference. So i gave up on hosting games. However now i cannot even join a game! With the FW on or off. I am not sure if my messing with my FW had anything to do with this or not, but it seems like it may have.
My FW settings say that HOI2 is is allowed as an excpetion, so perhaps a port was closed. Under the FW excpetions menu there is an option to open up ports, but they ask for a number and a name? I know which ports should be open from the HOI manuel, but whats up with the name part? Also, Upnp is not checked as an exception. It seems like there shouldn't be a problem with the FW, but it was the only thing I messed with before the problems began.
Does anyone perhaps have an idea of what is going or or what I should be doing in this situation?
