I've been playing EUII very nearly since it's first release. However, for the longest time while I was in college I never bothered to pay for internet (which is why EU2 was such a grand game, it had excellent single player =P)
But now blessed with Broadband in my own house, I would really like to try MP. I looked through a variety of the linked Newbie guides, and while they would be of help if I were to ever be in a game, I'm not in a game and not quite sure how to get involved in one = ) I suppose I could hang around and wait for a new one to start, but before I did that I'd like to at least test things out and make sure I got the hang of stuff.
So I guess i'm looking for assistance in getting everything setup and making sure I can actually play before looking to committ to playing.
I've played Diplo-games for Civ2 multiplayer over at Apolyton.net eons ago (you can even find me quoted in a number of the diplo-game tutorials as GNGSpam =P), so I understand the role playing concept behind these games, but I also understand there seem to ALWAYS be version matching and connection problems. I just wanted to get these out of the way before trying to join someones game (nothing makes people regret bringing a newbie into a game more then spending 2 hours dealing with connection issues).
My AIM is Chris282 and MSN is Chriscruthird@yahoo.com. I suppose I can get another ICQ address if that's the commonly used message service over here (it was at Apolyton many moons ago).
