Hi, I have been playing Hearts of Iron for about a year against the AI. I am looking at expanding my playing to include being tromped upon by human controlled electrons. To achieve that goal I battled fiercly with my router until it opened my ports and re-installed Hoi DD-Arma and patched it to 1.2 VBLV
I believe this is where I go
Looking for game, I like in the Eastern United States and can play every day OR night (Christmas EXCLUDED, though other holidays are still acceptable) until mid January when Tues Thurs are packed from Uni. I have ZERO multiplayer experience with HoI but if I say I will be somewhere at X time I will be there on-time unless there is an emergency. I can do DD or Arma and I don't mind using mods. After looking around a bit I like the look of an Abyss game but I am not picky. (except when it comes to my pizza)
(Me as a major in conventional WWII would spell disaster for my team, Me as a Minor would spell disaster in whatever area I am assigned, Perhaps I underestimate myself and overestimate humans?)
I would not mind 1v1 (avoid dragging team down) as long as my opponent does not mind battling an AI hardened, Human virgin commander who will probably be taken down by a singe well placed Para Drop.
The only thing I stress from opponent(s) is a little patience and tollerence, I am NOT interested in being grilled for failing to take advantage of an opening in the enemy line until I have played against humans for a time (this is an at times overwhelming game for goodness sakes, though a polite, "You missed an opportunity to do X when Y happened", would be greatly apreciated.).
For my experience with other Strategy games online, I was considered a VET (Veteran, 2nd highest slang classification for skill in Kohan, Ahrimans Gift), (very tactically challenging, if somewhat unknown RTS) So I am confident that with practice I can become a less-defeatable opponent.
