New to multiplayer with a couple questions

Hi, I'm ready to start playing EU2 multiplayer after playing several successful 1 player games (including winning the grand campaign as the papal states...never imagined Rome would become a south american colonial power

My questions are...first off, is this forum the best way to meet people and set up a game? It looks like it so far, as I see people posting games and times, is there anywhere else I can go?

My second question is that I'm behind a firewall and I've heard on this board that there can be problems connecting to the game this way...is there anybody out there who can help me with this? Do I need to forward any ports or anything on my computer in order for it to work?

Hey and welcome to the MP community

1. Yes this is a good place to look and post for games. Also it would be good to get set up on some ICQ lists so that we can notify you when games are going on. If you dont have ICQ then e-mail also works as the BUB Clan is now setting up a mailing list.

2. About the firewall, well all I can say is that with the current set up of the game they are a pain in the butt. Is their anyway for you to disable yours? Other then that I can't really help you as I am no expert on this subject and wouldn't want to give you bad advice.

I would love to play a game with some people on here, but I'm worried that with my firewall setup I wouldn't be able to get in the game and would screw up a game session for other people that were depending on me to fill a spot. So...hopefully this will bump the post up the line and somebody with some experience in this stuff can help me out. My setup is 3 computers at my house on a hardware router that comes with built-in firewall software. In order to play Warcraft 3 I had to set up port forwarding, at least to create games (I could always join games, though), so I know how to set it up if anybody has any information.

Failing that, if anybody would like to play with me, you could email me at matt@mccomb.com or look for me on AIM at NGT Ninjastyle, but I don't have ICQ...although if it is indispensable for playing, I can get it. Thanks for the help.
