Newbie question on finding countries

I am not a history buff and when I get an announcement that country X wants a royal marriage, how do I find it easily on the map? (I dont have problems with France, England, Spain, etc but countries like Moldavia)

Pause the game then switch to the Political Map (assuming you can do this with the message on the screen).


You'll now be able to see the national borders and thus make it easier to find the country.


I've been playing countless hours over the past two weeks, and I still have trouble finding provinces/nations. I never realized there were so many different nations in Europe at the time (assumed the Holy Roman Empire was an actual state).

Can't say I have a problem with finding countries myself but what Unionbuster said about switching to the political map works. Or get an atlas or so. Always handy.
