The next update for Steel Division: Normandy 44, poetically named The Division Bell, will be published next week. As previously announced, this new patch, still developed with the help of selected members of our community, focuses almost exclusively on balancing.

Our aim is to bring more diversity in division choice for competitive play while restoring a better balance between Axis and Allied in larger games.

To achieve the first goal we’re tweaking almost all the divisions. Some of the weakest, like the 716. Infanterie for example, will see some of their units reduced in price; while some others, like the 352 Infanterie, will receive some veteran units in small numbers. On the other side, the 3rd Armored and the Guard Armoured will get a big boost to help the Allied to stand their ground against the superior late game German tanks.

These are just few examples of what’s to come. As usual, you’ll have all the detail you want when The Division Bell update is released.

See you next week!

That seems to be a nice balance patch. Guards Armored really needs a bit of love. But, I'm wondering, there will some "feature" fixing with this patch (i.e. Falling back)? If not, do you have any plans about it? And if not, again, could you explain the initial minding about it and how it really function in the game? ;-)

Yes, let's bring out all the balance-changes at ones and cause thus another meta... that is probably imbalanced in a different way.
Really the way to go...

(€: It's not like that didn't work in Wargame too)

My 2 favorite Axis divisions getting buffs, perfect, hopefully player numbers rebound back after this

Please keep up the information flow. It was great to see your facebook update a few days ago where you actually broke down what broke down with the servers. It might not seem like much, but stuff like that goes a long way to show the community you care and want to keep us informed. Please continue to do so!

Yes, and do it in the forums please. I hate to look at different sources like facebook and Steam forums for stuff like this. They should be posted here first.

?? buff? i dont think is a good idea, they have cheaper tanks and much more in numbers and usually better at close distance to support infantry and most of all they get acces to tanks in early stage of game while panzer division dont. so i dont understand why buff them..

I could bet it will be only a few division being balanced... and not all. Or just no real Unit-Balance, but merely a few Units shifted around and/ or being upvetted/ price changed.

I hope that they'll buff or rework 116th Panzer. It has always been rather weak, but up to the last patch it was ok. Now it's just gone and completely broken. I stopped playing SD because of it (I was trying hard to make it work again, but with no effect).
