This is an ideas thread but I don't know if it should go into CK II when it's something that's conceivably moddable.

I've noticed that DVIP adds the Order of Santiago, which is cool so there's another knightly crusading order there, but I'm wondering what other historical groups that were province-worthy are missing. Now, the Catalan Company did not actually own territory as far as I know. But what about the Hashshashin? They could spring out around Alamut randomly and be like the Muslim equivalent to the Templars, except when you are friends/allies with any of them you get bonuses assassinating religious enemies.

There are already several mods that add the Assassins by events, like f.e. TASS and DVIP.

The Catalan Company did control lands

In 1310 Roger Deslaur then offered its service to Walter V of Brienne Duke of Athens and within a year it freed the duchy of its enemies, only to be betrayed by Brienne who refused to pay for is services. The Company avenged itself, defeating and killing Brienne in the Battle of Halmyros on the March 15, 1311, taking control of the duchy of Athens. Around this time, the Company also conquered the city of Thebes.

No longer under control of the French the new Aragonese lands expanded into Thessaly and became the duchies of Athens and Neopatria. The Catalan rule was to last uninterruptedly until 1388–1390 when they were defeated by the Navarrese Company under Pedro de San Superano, Juan de Urtubia, and allied with the Florentines under Nerio I Acciaioli of Corinth. His descendants controlled them until 1456 when they were conquered by the Ottoman Empire. By that time, like many military enterprises, the Great Company had faded out of history.

The problem with creating 'realms' through events is that they all are 'fuedal' unless you use the tags of the Papal State, The Templars, The Hospitallers or the Teutonic Order. All other tags will automatically be feudal, this isn't moddable.

Just for completeness' sake, PAPA is the last special tag, which always becomes a bishopric (papacy).

Unfortunately there is no way outside of setting it with scenario setup (existing realms only) or by editing the savegame to change the form of government, so we cannot create new republics or knight orders by event.
