The plus and minus on the keyboard doesn't work for increasing the speed of the game; only the plus and minus on the numerical keyboard works for that. This must surely be a bug.

Same here. It surely is a bug, there are a lot of laptops and tenkeyless keyboards not having a numpad, and Apple's wireless keyboards does not have it too.
I know this issue's been resolved before, so will hopefully be integrated again soon
