Hello everyone.. two small problems if anyone can help me or point me to the correct post in the forums for the answer.

My version of CK2 is showing as v1.03b and every time I create a shortcut on my desktop I get a CK2 link but no icon?

Just a white blank above the link. (see screenshot.)
The game also says it is Performing first time set up - installing Microsoft Visual ++.

How far behind is the tech support?
My CK2 Desktop Icon for the game shows only as a white box and when I start the game I get Installing for the first time the Microsoft Visual ++ 2010 each time.
I searched the forums and found that the problem is fixed with the new patch v1.03b. Mine is this new version and still I get the same two problems?
Any help appreciated. For game support do I email them (Paradox) or post in these forums?

My problems are only small but I still would like some help :) thanks

The first one is cosmetic, but you can probably fix it yourself by pointing the link to a file containing a nice .ico file.

The second one is entirely a Steam issue. I've heard it happens with multiple games, nothing to do with CK2 itself. If you really care about it, log a ticket with them.
 
Update on the second issue: we have one report that says:
To stop the 'installing for the first time, c++ etc' messages, get rid of the 'installscript.vdf' file in your 'Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\crusader kings ii' folder.
