Hi all,

Just a quick question to find out if anyone else feels the need to re-arrange their kingdom so that it fits the natural duchies? Eg, I'm playing TASS as Harold Godwinson (in the scenario where Edward the Confessor is still alive) and, having schemed my way to a somewhat reduced English throne, I'm now trying to make sure that all the Duchies fit. But this is really hard, because Wessex begins with some vassals who don't fit.

Eg, The Duchy of Cornwall has no vassals, and only one province, because the other two constituent provinces of the Duchy of Cornwall owe allegiance directly to me. So part of my long-term plan is to get those two counties into the control of the Duke of Cornwall, either in his direct demesne, or as his own vassals.

Anyone else feel the need to do this? For that matter, anyone have any tips for easily transferring vassals?

Cheers,
Stigandr.

I have to admit that I always try to do that in my games to. :)

I always make it so provinces that are part of a Duchy are under the control of the Duke or the Count who controls it is a vassal of that Duke. Everything needs to be perfect. The unfortunate side effect is that when making people give up their title so I can put it right can make the rest of my vassals get upset :D

Any way to force counts to become vassals of your Dukes instead of being a vassal of yourself?

Exactly KingJH! It's actually quite hard to make realms "fit". Would it be possible to code a way of "giving" the allegiance of a vassal to someone else? Then I could make my vassal Count of Devon the vassal of the Duke of Cornwall, instead. :)

It usually involves a lot of forece revoking of titles and regranting them. Usually I start by taking the duke title, and then rearrange any counties I need to, and the regrant it. Sometimes I just revoke all titles in a duchy and give all of them to the new duke, and let him sort it out on his own :)

I don't mind too much, as it gives me something to do between conquests, and in those lean years when there are no offspring to control.
