Hello, friends! I hope your summer has been pleasant and enjoyable. It's been a few months since we caught up, so I thought it might be nice (and legally obligatory) to share with you how things have been going on our end. Our Q2 report is imminent!

Paradox will present its report for Q2 2021 next week, on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. As ever, this report will appear on our website at https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/, and we will host a live stream with CEO Ebba Ljungerud and CFO Alexander Bricca who will share details, provide their direct comments and context, and take live questions from viewers. That presentation will occur at 12:00 Noon, Stockholm Time, on our Twitch channel: twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive

There is limited time for the Q&A, so if you have a question you would like to have answered, you can submit one in advance either by responding to this post, or by emailing us at ir@paradoxplaza.com. We will also accept questions from Twitch Chat as time permits! Please be sure to submit your questions before the stream if you'd like it answered during the presentation.

Cheers!

Hello Ebba and Alexander,

I have a sort of selfish question but I'm far from the only player (and shareholder) with this issue. I really enjoy the grand strategy Paradox titles, but there has always been one frustration. Many of the map modes use green and red. But I'm red-green colourblind and basically can't use any of these map modes. Is it possible for Paradox to implement some sort of colourblind mode in the options? There was a mod in the past for EUIV, but it never was able to work well for me. One possible suggestion to fix it is to keep either green or red and replace the other colour by for instance blue instead.

I hope Paradox can add this very considerate but small feature that would help a lot of people. Colourblindness affects 1 in 20 men (and 1 in 200 women).

Thank you,

Gunter

I do remember that in the past there was an idea that machine learning can be used for AI in Paradox grand strategy games. Was there any research in this direction and do you believe that we may see an AI that adapts to each player and provides just the right level of challenge in a couple of years?

Hi Ebba and Alexander, I have some questions about Bloodlines 2:

1) Who is the new developer team?
2) Do you plan to launch the game on the next year?
3) Do you plan to add Portuguese (PT-BR) subtitles?

I cannot participate in the Twitch Q&A, but I hope you may find time to comment on this question:

China is the second most important market for PDX, and there have been recent concerns about the possibility of future regulatory issues, given the fact that many PDX titles serve both recreational and educational purposes. In case Chinese regulators should express concerns about PDX breaching Chinese school curriculums (concerning historical events, etc.), it should be possible for PDX to edit data files to accommodate regulatory directives.
1) Is PDX willing to cooperate with Chinese regulators in these matters?
2) Could this lead to special Chinese game editions with historical content differing from inernational editions?

I wondered how the decision came to be to announce Victoria 3 somewhat early.
I thought after the debacle of announcing HoI4 to early and the pleasant reception of CK3 being released quite soon after announcement that this would be the way going forward for PDS, but now Victoria 3 was announced Early Alpha stage, with "a long while till release". How come?

Hi Ebba and Alexander,

First question: Looking at your capitalized development it seems that some projekts should be in their later stages (more than just victoria 3), but it is still very quiet regarding announcements. will you have shorter timeframes between announcements and releases in the future? (due to a change in the mar*eting strategy?) ("ma*keting" seems a banned word ;) )

second question: do you plan to hedge against USD in the future?

thank you!

Are we really at a point with ai that we could do this?

Surely we can't run an ai learning algorithm in each game unless we're streaming it from some massive data centre. Would a pre run AI's code really be much better at stopping a player?
