not release in future hearts of iron 4 in paradox launcher?
My best guess... and note it's just a guess... of all the Paradox games not on the Launcher yet, HoI4 has probably the higher chance of getting there, being the youngest.

I think the considerations would be: is this a good used of development time? What else doesn't get to done allow that to be done (ie opportunity cost)? Where is the ROI for that expenditure?

I don't have any answers for those questions :)

I suppose adding a patch to your games that inactivates the multiplayer mode, removing files and changing the button to access it in the menus so that it does not launch this function and displays a message inviting to use the Steam version, would only cost very little development time.

In terms of ROI, this would allow people who do not want to install DRM on their operating system to buy your games. I guess I would not be the only one to enjoy the availability of your wide range of games on the Paradox Launcher, even at the price of a message in capital letters on the Paradox Store presentation page to inform that the Paradox Launcher version does not have multiplayer.

Tyranny is available on the Paradox Launcher only for Microsoft Windows, while it has a GNU/Linux version.
I reported this problem a few months ago. But since the Paradox Launcher still does not offer me the game, I report this problem here.

I'm afraid there is no Linux version of Tyranny adapted for the PDX launcher. We were hoping to be able to host GoG's Linux version but that looks like it has fallen through.

Sorry about that!

Hello again,

Trying to update Stellaris to 2.2.6 through the Launcher, getting the "An error occured" red popup, and the cpatch.log always end with this :

2019-03-12 19:40:42 [daemon] [DEBUG] apply-patch: 1 out of 447 files done
2019-03-12 19:40:42 [daemon] [DEBUG] SEND: f50e5a09-bd71-48d5-9777-16204c7064f9 progress

I tried running as Administrator (same error), I have no firewalls or antivirus running. Any other ideas / workarounds I could try?

Thanks !

PS: Just tried the 1.5 Battletech update, same error :

What is your Paradox client version? It should be beta-35 , if not that is probably the problem.

If that is okay though Try this:

- log out of your Paradox account in the client
- log back in again
- hit GAMES-REFRESH
- click on Stellaris again and see if it will update now.

Whether BT 1.5 is available via the Client yet, indeed if it needs a new client version I'm not sure.

I'm on version 1.0-beta-35 of the client, I tried the logout/login/refresh workaround and it didn't work (same error and log).

UPDATE : I'm thinking it's an update process failure. I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling Battletech from scratch, and version 1.5.0 installed without any problems. Pretty sure this would also work with Stellaris. So... full install will work, updates will not.

Let me know if you want to investigate this any further.

May as well attach the full cpatch.log files here for the Client dev folks to look into. Thanks!

That looks to me like something outside the client shut down the connection to our server. What is the nature of your internet connection?

Can you move to another network, or at least try a different machine?

Strange, but... if something was closing the connections, wouldn't it also close them during full install? Why only during updates?

I'm on a 200 Mbit/s broadband connection, straight to the router (ie. not wireless). I did tweak some TCP settings (ie. disabled NetBIOS), but nothing else comes to mind. I'm not behind a VPN, or using a firewall.

I can't try on another network right now, but I'll try another machine later for sure.

So, about the Paradox Launcher and download management…

Now I gave this new launcher of yours a fair chance. I even created a paradox account, linked it to steam and did what Paradox wants people to do. It basically cost me an evening for nothing.
I’m on Linux (idk if it matters) and my Wifi connection at home is rather weak resulting in an unstable internet connection.
If it crumbles, the launcher aborts the download and the next time I launch it it just deletes everything downloaded already and starts anew.
If I‘m not mistaken, there is no chance:
…to continue an interrupted download;
…to get the links and download the files with an actual DL manager (then copy them to some location and give over to the launcher for installation);
…to copy over already downloaded and installed games from the Steam folder.

Please tell me I’m wrong it is not all as bad as it appears to me!

As much as we at PDX regret your ordeal, I'm afraid I can give you no solace on the matter - at present we don't have a solid "resume download" function in place. We are developing these capabilities, but it's slow going at the moment due to a host of other engagements. And no, your OS does not matter in this case.

Speaking of other engagements: We are in the process of switching CDN providers in order to increase download speeds, so hopefully that will improve your situation somewhat. I'll get back on that topic when we are ready for the migration - A lot of little fiddly bits need to fit before we get it working nicely though.

Thanks for the reply.
It worked in the end, mainly by chance, when my connection stayed stable for enough time at once. Won’t try it with another game unless I have to.

What I had been hoping for would be a workaround like “take the line from the manifest file, write the parameters like this, and you get an URL you can use”.

The launcher doesn’t have a file integrity check either, does it?

Good to hear you managed to get your connection to stay stable and so finish the download!

The URL:s are of the one-time-use kind - we are in the "selling games" business, remember ;)

The launcher does both authenticity and integrity checks.

The last few days I've repeatedly tried and failed to download the 1.5.1 BATTLETECH (STOMPYMECH) patch via the PDX launcher. "An error occurred"-> "Dismiss".

I might be a Paradox fanboy, but I'm wondering - is there a better solution to this than to download the entire game again but via Steam and wait until the PDX launcher is properly seaworthy?
