Patch 1.09 Troubles

I recently purchased a copy of North American EU and played it quite happily. I finally decided to upgrade it to 1.09 though and it will no longer function. I have tried reinstalling it multiple times (both the game and the patch) and still it does not work.

What actually happens is that when I try to begin the game a screen with a bunch of CDs labeled "Safe Disk' pops up, and then dissappears. After that, nothing at all happens and I'm just sitting on my desktop with no EU to play.

Computer: Pentium 3 660(or thereabouts), 128MB RAM, SBLive, GeForce2, 1 HD (35 GB),1 DvD, 1 CD-R , Win98.
Download Patch EU 1.09 NA, installed .
Patched game won't run.

This is certainly a compatibility problem with SafeDisc. You should contact Stragy First's support (support@strategyfirst.com).

I had (I thought) the same problem, but if you let it sit for a few minutes the game kicks in. I am running it on a P166 and it is stable (if a bit slow)

I did try letting it sit there, and that did not cause the program to run. Thank you for your advice Patric, I have contacted First Strategy support and I hope that they can find the cause of my problem.
