Hi guys,

I can't install the patches. I've downloaded 1.05 and 1.06 (1.01 worked with an direkt installer) but when I run them it always says "East India Company was not found on your computer". In the patch folders are two files: eic_patch.exe and eic_patch2-1a.bin .

Could someone pls help me?

I've tried now almost everything.

Thx

Truls

You need to press WIN+R, type "regedit" into the box that shows up and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Paradox Interactive -> East India Company. Create directories if they aren't there.

In East India Company you need to add a variable named "directory" and set it to your EIC installation directory, for example "C:\Program Files\East India Company".

EDIT: (found a post by a dev here: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showpost.php?p=9942410&postcount=14)

The reason why you get the message could also be that you have purchased the game through Steam or Impulse in which case you SHOULD NOT even try to install the downloadable patches. Steam and Impulse will provide the patches straight to you.
But if there just has been an error with creating the registry keys, then you should of course use those instructions.

For Windows Vista 64-bit users:

I had to add the directory key in registry to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Paradox Interactive\East India Company]

I guess it's a Vista 64-bit thing that 32-bit applications have a different registry location.
