Here's what I'm seeing when I look at the map in terrain mode:

Basically, the terrain looks very strange and unnatural all-around. In particular, it looks like there's some sort of weird grid pattern that makes it look a lot like the map was built out of little patchwork squares, much like an old quilt.

My current graphics settings, including the contents of my Settings file in the CK2 folder in My Documents:

I'm running AGOT 0.9.6 (no submods) on the most recent version. I've had this issue for a while, but I've only really been bothered enough to report it recently. Any suggestions on how to fix it, or anything else I need to give y'all otherwise?

I can't see any reason why the fix would be incompatible with the latest version of the mod. That said, while it worked for most people, it didn't work for everybody.

OP from the settings picture you posted, you can tell that there is something majorly wrong with your world_normal_height file. In my experience this issue at least can be fixed by opening up world_normal_height.bmp in the map folder and resizing it to 4096 - 2560 pixels.

Thanks for the help. I'll try that out later tonight.

EDIT: So after downloading and applying the map fix and tweaking world_normal_height.bmp as suggested, here's what I've got:

The patchwork effect is barely noticeable in most cases now, but it's still there. I seem to have screwed the height map tweak up somehow, though, as the "terrain height" effects are still not quite right; it's somewhat noticeable in the above screenshots, but really obvious in this one:

Yeah that height file way off, Ive never actually seen it that bad before. It's been a while since I've done map editing, I may have forgotten something. I'll have a look when I'm next at my computer and see what can be done.
