First of all - what a great game.

Second of all, I noticed that compared to CK1, the onscreen buttons have a bit of a 'lag' - it takes two or three seconds for them to highlight and be clickable. This caused me to accidentally click the button that was last highlighted a few times, rather than the one I thought my cursor was pointing to. Three seconds isn't much, but over an hour of play time, it adds up.

I assumed the lag was just the price you pay for improved graphics, but I noticed on several video tutorials that people were clicking right through, without any lag at all. So I'm curious - does anyone know of a way to dial back the graphics (such as water surface, cloud cover, et cetera) in order to speed up clickability? I haven't messed with the presets as of yet, so they're all set to the original values.

Thanks in advance!

If you go to documents/crusaderkingsii/settings you can edit what is rendered by the game such as trees, city sprawl, and sky. Trees would most likely be the main culprit for your problem. Hope this helped

I tried it out...changed the {= yes} for trees and sky to an {= no} in the Settings document. I don't think it made any difference that I can tell, but thanks anyway for responding!

I don't think there's any substitute for a good graphics card... until some talented modder gets rid of the "billowing clouds" fog-of-war. I've turned off water, sky and trees, and it still lags terribly.

See this thread, if you want me to look into it further please post your dxdiag.txt , thanks.
