Playing England, I have a few colonies and trading posts in the Carribean - love that demand for sugar! Spain has more. I get a Piracy pop-up quite frequently. Those pirates love that area. What I wonder is whether these Pirates are affecting Spain as well. You can always see if your own province is affected by moving your mouse over the trade value on your city/colony graphic, but since that doesn't appear on other countries colonies, I can't figure if piracy is affecting the Spanish possessions or not, or whether these are really privateers hired by Spain just to get me. If the pirates affect Spain as well, I'm considering letting their depradations go since it will hurt Spain more than me and perhaps Spain will take care of them for me. I'm currently stationing two squadrons in the Carribean area for anti-piracy duty and I'd like to use them elsewhere, and I really don't like the idea of Spain getting a free ride.
