It would be sweet to see AGoT mod incorporate the mechanics from the Mercenary King's mod! Not sure how many of you have played the Mercenary mod, but its pretty sweet. Would be awesome to play as the Windblown, Golden Company and others. I can see how it would be rather difficult with the succession and all, seeing as how the Mercenary Mod now has father-son inheritance, but maybe it could require certain stats, like 10 martial, skilled/master warrior, etc.

What do you guys think?

I think it would be great.

I think it would be great.

And i think that the guys on the GoT mod could really flesh out the idea, too. Mercenary Kings is great and all, but after a while it gets tedious. Can't form a Kingdom, or empire, and you're stuck at the cap for the mercenary band you take, unless you get holdings. For a company like The Golden Company, with its near 10,000 men, it wouldn't be too bad, but for a smaller one? That'd be shitty. No reason to play anything but The Golden Company if you can't have more men or progress.

Wish i had even the smallest amount of modding skill, i'd try to make a sub-mod. But i can't input my microwave half the time, so that ain't happening :(

fighting for daemon's sons as bittersteel? i'm signed.

Couldnt we simply give them a barony and mark them an important character on the map to be selected?

That could work, keeping their titular Duke title and all. The Mercenary Kings mod has it so that once you get a certain level of prestige and gold, you can build barony-level holdings in your "home" province, provided there's room for it. Don't know how this would work in the Free Cities, since most of those provinces are packed.

Well, was browsing the Citadel forum for the mod, and saw this little line on the list of things that will not be added:
"
  • Mercenary Kings integration - Would be largely superfluous.
"
Looks like someone already suggested it over there. Disregard this thread, then. :(

Well you can ask somebody to make a submod for it.

I guess with the huge changes upcoming with the DEV diary, AGOT got tons of work to do, so do tons of other modders.
And I guess mods update will be a lot slower, just like when Charlemagne was released.

Think 2.34 is again a final update to things, before we jump to 3.0 with the dlc release.
