Playing Kingsguard

Is there any point playing as Kingsguard? It doesn't seem like they could do much.

It's great for roleplaying. As a "normal" playthrough, it isn't fun, as you can't expand, etc.

I like to play it, but yeah, if you're not into RPGs you won't find that much fun in it.
