Hi evryone!

My friend and I are on a shared internet connection and want to set up a game with some people over the Ineternet. Is that possible somehow? And if so, what are the necessary settings, who has to host the game? It would be a blast if you could help us!

P.S.: Sorry if this is an old question, I seem to be too stupid to find the search function in this forum...

The essence of the problem is that Paradox games use Microsoft's DirectPlay and this expects you to have your own address on the internet. When you use a shared connection, the router has the public address on the internet and your PC has a local address which is known only to the router. You need to tell the router to forward incoming traffic on certain ports to your local address. I suppose that you can only do this for one PC on your local network and so you will not be able to play wth more than one local PC in this way. But some players connect wth multiple PCs so maybe there is a way of doing it. Please read the sticky threads for more advice and some worked examples.
