Happy New Year everyone...
I bought yesterday a copy of EU1 and I would like to play, but...
I have a problem.
It is impossible to play because on my new pc (pIV 3.06, Ati Radeon 9700 pro) the mouse cursor appears only when it wants...

I believe that it can be a graphic card compatibility problem, has someone else experienced the same problem?
Who can I ask for solve this problem?
Please, someone can help me?

Thank you in advance,

Marco

Let's see. First off...

- what country version of EU1 do you have?
- have you applied the appropriate 1.10 patch?
- what OS are you running? Have you updated it recently?
- what version of DirectX are you running? Have you updated it recently?
- have you updated your video drivers to the most recent?
- have you apdated your sound drivers to the most recent?
- have you updated your mouse driver to the most recent?

Assuming all the above are "normal", start by renaming the \avi folder to \avi_old and try running it.

If that doesn't work, try reducing hardware acceleration on your card or turning off hardware acceleration altogether.

Let me know how the above works and if you're still having problems we'll take it from there.

Also what brand of mouse is it? and is it wired or Wireless. Did you install any special mouse software with it?

Thank you...

First of all, really thank you for your quick and kind answer,
really.

Now, I have eu1 Italian patched 1.10, running on a piv 3.06 xp pro service pack 1, directx 8.1 (original), ati radeon 9700 pro updated, creative audigy 2 updated, logitech cordless mouse updated...
I will try now to do the option you suggested, I will let you know the result (please give me one or two days, I'm working, no many time to play unfortunately...)

Logitech Mouseman software has been known to cause problems with lots of software. Did you install this?
There are also some settings you can change in the mouse software that effect when the currsor is visable.

Ah yes...I had a similar problem at one time. You may find the easiest fix would be to uninstall your Logitech drivers completely and then let Windows XP install its own version of the mouse driver. In my experience the XP driver will almost never cause you to lose any functionality that the Logitech driver gives you.

Thank you all of you...

... My problem is solved.
I was thinking that a brand new computer would be up to date with drivers, but...
... it wasn't!
I upgraded yesterday ati driver with version 6-13-10-6218 and logitech with 2.15 and 9.75, and all run correctly.

Now... the tutorial!
Wow, this is a HUGE game, seems to be what was TOAW 1 and 2 for a different kind of games i like!

Thank you all,

Marco

Our pleasure. It's always nice to see success.

Enjoy! :)
