On PS4 if you would like to save at a particular moment in time it forces you every time to go on your list of saves and choose one to overwrite. This is not only archaic but has now led to me starting my second city, and then upon its first save, overwriting my first instantly with absolutely no warning. This is because there is simply no button just to save your current city, you must go on the overwrite page. When the overwrite page opened however it already had my first city highlighted. Having saved this way every time for weeks on my original city, I saved my second city. Only to immediately realize I had overwritten it. There is no undo, so my 90k population city is gone forever. Please I beg of you, add a button to save your current city and not just force a player to overwrite every time. So that this grief may be avoided for players in the future.
Thankyou.

Do you have a use for every city in a save slot ? Send old saves to cloud or thumb drive or Delete the old saves you don’t plan to revisit to free up some open slots to freely save.

Unless we get more save spaces your going to have to be more attentive when saving. I’ve lost a couple myself, it’s frustrating but quickly get used to the minor delay deleting any old saves and checking what slot I’m using when I save.
