Hi,

Still playing along in my first GC, I have noticed something odd. I am still playing with auto-assign factory labor enabled, and it is doing something I do not understand.

To date I have seen, on more than one occasion (in fact, it is quite commonplace) that the auto-assign is placing farmers in factories. It was my understanding that only craftsmen and clerks work in factories, so this is the first odd thing.

Secondly, the actual number of farmer POP's doesn't match the number of used slots that the factory itself shows. For example, a factory lists 3/5, and when I look it shows me 5 farmer POP's.

Thirdly, when I go ahead and upgrade one farmer POP to become a crafsman POP, suddenly a couple of farmer POP's disapear into thin air, and are simply gone. Mind you, not all disapear, but some do. I haven't figured out the logic behind it, it seems quite random.

What is going on here?

Your taxes are too high and people can't buy the everyday goods, thus they demote to farmers/laboruers. Lower taxes (and most probably militancy as I have seen this happening more often with unhappy POPs).
The numbers do not match because the game doesn't count farmers/labourers as working POPs in a factory (what is strange You can actually see 100% in the previous screen  )
When You convert one of these POPs to craftsmen the game takes the rest out of the factory (should do it at the moment they demoted, but it doesn't) so they are in the RGO most likely (unless these were <10k groups, if so, they merge).

My taxes are just below 33%, and have been almost from the beginning. Militancy is virtually non existing.

The numbers are weird for sure. Just as an example, I checked my sole factory in Istria. It reported 5/5 and 100%, but upon inspection there was 1 clerk, 2 farmers and 2 labourers. So I picked on farmer and upgraded him to crafsmen. Now the remaining farmer and labourers are gone, and the factory reports 2/5 and 40%.

So, I decide to convert another farmer, and select the province of Pola, which reports 11/15 working on the grain farm. I select one of the farmers to convert to craftsmen, which auto-assigns to the factory. The factory is now, logically, at 3/6 and 60%. But another mystery surfices. My grain farm has dropped from 11/15 to 7/15, even though I only converted one single farmer POP.

There is something weird going on here.
