As an avid CK2 player with over 1000 hours clocked, and a raging GOT fan and a pompous reader of the books (strictly show-watchers are peasants), this mod seemed like a dream come true. However, the accursed CTD is probably the most notable feature of this mod for me so far.

Within a few years (even a few days in some cases), a CTD is inevitable. No matter who I play. No matter what DLC I have active. No matter what.

Now don't get me wrong, I admire the amount of work this must've taken to put together, and I congratulate the wonderful team of modders for a job well done  . I believe that given the chance I could really have some fun with this mod. It is impossible as of now unfortunately due to the CTD's.

I am sure the team is already aware of the problem and are diligently working to fix it, I just pray to The Seven that an update comes soon. I can't wait to enjoy this mod to its full capacity. :)

This. For me, the CTD nonsense starts happening about 30 years into any game I play, no matter what. Currently, it's happening in my Blackfyre game.

I used to get them CTD's every years in the beginning, (Autosave every 6 months really helped me there), but now for some reason I'm able to play decades without a CTD. (All DLC & 6 AGOT submods). Not really bothering me anymore :)

I recall some versions of the game where I was able to play hundred of years, can't wait for a bugfixing only update (but I know it's a very boring and hard thing to do ^^).
Now, if you're lucky you can definitely play for a century, however most of my games last less than 5 decades, and for one game out of two the CTD happens while loading, so no hope of recovery...

I hope they include hairstyles and clothes from the DLC for people who have them, there is already a submod which does that called Congentinal Overhaul but it also messes with traits, so please add more hairstyles and beards for people who have dlc.

Literally on the first post of that mod, in big red bold letters it says:
"USING PORTRAITS ONLY
The following is a brief instruction on how to borrow the portrait stuff only to use with other submods if you don't like the traits or anything."

Has anyone figured out what the source of the CTD seems to be? And is there something to do or not do to make it not happen or less frequently?

Remove this event from maintenance_events.txt:
"#Courtier gets married"

I removed the courtier event mentioned. I couldn't verify if it would help with getting rid of the errors with the new game, but my existing save game still crashed in the 15th day from the save like clockwork with no DLC:s and submods activated.

Can I ask why do you suspect the courtier event being the cause? I'd like to debug the mod a bit (with my limited intelligence) if I'd know where to start looking.

Try a new save with that fix.

I will actually try it in my long campaign of the Lannisters to create the Kingdom of Westeros in The Bleeding Years

Yeah, but I don't see why I need a sub-mod for that when it should be included in the main mod, because it would create more diverse and unique characters if we had more clothes, beards and hairstyles for wersterosi people.

Me and ZeroFighterR are the guys that do the Westeros Only submod updates, and I do the AGOT RP submod. That event was one of the ones that I narrowed down as the cause of frequent crashes for me, so it may be the issue.

If you upload your savegame here I can take a look at it and find out exactly what's causing it to crash though, given its repeatable.

If you don't want it then don't use it...

No crashes yet in my new game, though my older and apparently corrupted savegame was overwritten yesterday with the new game I started. I'll try to play some decades ahead and see if the error repeats now that the courtier event is removed.

Also, thank you ZeroFighterR and Kapt Torbjorn very much for the help, and for your work with the game!

Your fix doesn't work

Ah well, I have no idea then. My game is stable when I run it with AGOT RP, I honestly can't seem to pinpoint what the issue is otherwise.

If an AGOT Dev could be so kind, could you perhaps give us an update on your progress to alleviating the issues, or even a release date for a new patch/hotfix?
